Kid Sister - aka Melisa Young - exploded in 2008 with her genius first single 'Pro Nails' which features Kanye West (appearing out of love for his fellow Chicagoan Kid Sis), and an appearance on The Count & Sinden's 'Beeper'. Since then she has been recording her debut album 'Ultraviolet' with some of the world's finest electronic music makers. Born in 1980, she was raised in a Chicago suburb and grew up interested in musical theatre, but did not pursue a career in hip hop until she had graduated. Encouraged by the burgeoning success of her younger brother Josh Young, also known as J2K of the Chicago DJ duo Flosstradamus, Melissa adopted the name and persona of Kid Sister in early 2006. Kid Sister is truly a tongue-in-cheek throwback to the first golden age of hip hop.
