Hosting Japans very own RBMA show, Shibuya FM is named after one of the world's busiest urban zones, and it doesn't let its name sake down. Covering the multitude of music styles that prevail through Tokyo, on any one day you can hear jazzy eclecticism from original Tokyo pioneers like Toshio Matsuura, Raphael Sebagg, future beats from the Jazzy Sport crew, reggae 45s from Shibu Ragga, deep disco and house music from Lowrider, Flower Records, and Tokyo Clubmix, while the World Famous show covers all the bases, and the downtown b-boys tune into Warp On The Table and MasterMix. The weekly RBMA session sees the freshest local talent rubbing shoulders in the studio with international guests. Special guest this time around is none other than Toshio Matsuura. Back in 1990 he formed the United Future Organization (U.F.O.), a crew that was massively important during the formative years of Japanese club culture. After twelve years and five albums he quit the group to continue on his own, DJing around the globe, dropping remixes for the likes of James Brown or Gotan Project and continuing to record and compile music for a wide variety of labels. Visiting our RBMA show on Shibuya FM he dropped a fine selection of tunes for your listening pleasure.
