Zen Badizm

IG Culture's Zen Badizm Workshop is a dynamic arkestra with fusions of soul, hip hop, jazz and bruk-funk. The band, led by London's music chameleon IG Culture, was born out of the groundbreaking concept album 'Zen Badizm' released on Tokyo's Freedom School label in 2008. They opened up proceedings at the Broad Casting night, performing music including some tracks the aforementioned album. Channeling the conscious energy of jazz labels like Strata East and Tribe, the heart-melting soul of Eddie Kendricks, and the spirituality of Sun Ra through the cutting edge musicianship of IG and collaborators including Bilal, Corey Wilkes, Pino Palladino and Heidi Vogel. The line-up for the night's incarnation of Zen Badizm is a revelation and includes Kaidi Tatham, Akwesi Mensah, Eric Appapoulay, and the angelic voiced Swede and Academy participant that is Fatima. IG's done it again.
