Celebrated for their collective creativity and ensemble improvisation, Build An Ark find themselves in that magical place where John & Alice Coltrane, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, and Joni Mitchell are one in a cosmic soul music that is both topical and metaphysical. As part of London Jazz Festival, Red Bull Music Academy presents this special edition of Broad Casting at London's Cargo and LA's Carlos Nino along with Miguel Atwood-Ferguson bring Build an Ark to the stage. Tribe Records' founder, trombonist Phil Ranelin comes centre-stage along with vocalist and composer Dwight Trible - who has performed with Harry Belafonte, Bobby Hutcherson and notably, Pharoah Sanders. They brought a special show to us, courtesy of the amazing Kindred Spirits label in Holland, and filled London's Cargo with their uplifting and message-driven freedom jazz sound, performing tracks from their new album 'LOVE Part 1', as well as favourites from their previous albums. Build an Ark are duty-bound to awaken a higher consciousness within their audience as anyone who has caught them live before will testify. Sharing a message of love, their performance in this instance is certainly no exception. Here is what Build An Ark's band leader and producer Carlos Nino has to say: "We normally perform with a 30 piece band, but traveling as 8 so we had to make some serious adjustments. But overall, the set had a lot of positive energy, and some magical, musical moments!"
