They call him the T-Man! Based in Johannesburg, where from Soweto to Melville new urban African styles rule the streets. Jozi's clubs bounce with the smooth, junkin' trunk, curvy deep Afro House that South Africa has embraced ever since Kwaito paved the way. T-Man is deeply down with the movement, influenced by stellar African artists old and new as well as the usual polished gems from American shores like Marvin Gaye, Jill Scott and Miss Patti Labelle. Our man with the capital T must be doing something right here, as South African Jazz legend Hugh Masekela collaborated with him on a cheerful House tune. With his debut album in the works and a few tracks out on compilations, the future looks as bright for him as Masekela's collection of polished trumpets.
