Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden has been raising musical eyebrows for time, starting off way back in the experimental trio Fridge, on Trevor Jackson's Output label. Since then Kieran took off on solo flights and plenty of collaborations as Four Tet, climbing aboard the good ship Domino and linking with cats like J Dilla and Steve Reid along the way, all while releasing albums that constantly raise the bar as to what is possible within the realms of electronic music. Considering his amazing work using folk, soul or jazz textures in his own music, it seems like he was destined to work with someone like Steve Reid at some point. Someone who played with James Brown as well as Miles Davis, whose drumming for Chaka Khan is as impressive as his grooves for Archie Shepp. Who went on to played with Fela Kuti. What could not be expected was how naturally they'd take to each other, playing concerts, and recording music, that perfectly amalgamates their work so far. This show catches them live and direct at Shift Festival in Basel, Switzerland.
