Jorge Socarras started as a painter at SVA, morphed through the 70's into a performance artist, avantgarde actor, porn-film extra, B-model, and perhaps most notably a singer-songwriter with producer legend Patrick Cowley (1975-79), and Indoor Life (1980-87). In the years since, Jorge worked as music director for dance, theater, fashion and video; as a creative director and A&R coordinator in independent music production; music and concert coordinator; humanities and writing instructor; fine art and luxury sales specialist and as a copywriter. On top of all that Socarras was a founding member of the Silence=Death project and also worked as doorman at most any NY nightclub you visited in the 80's. His apologies if he didn't let you in - how was he to know? Most recently Berlin's Macro Music crew released "Catholic". A "lost" album Jorge Socarras recorded with Patrick Cowley 30 years ago and a wonderful example of the avantgarde and deeply emotional sounds that ruled these times. If you survive long enough everything comes around.
