So what happens with 8 brothers who steal away from their father practicing with his Sun Ra influenced jazz band downstairs in a space called the Sun Ark to listen to Eazy-E and Ice Cube under their blankets? Well, in case of Sun Ra's Chicago drummer Philip Cohran's, these kids will do the obvious thing after years of that and a steady regiment of early morning rehearsals: they form a brass band and conquer the world, moving from busking in Chicago to performing on stages with Mos Def or Erykah Badu and recording a record with the likes of Tony Allen and Flea. Signed to the home of tastefully out there music that is Honest Jons, they continue to tour the world and hypnotize people where ever they go. A fine cure for any blue monday, as this show straight from Dublin shows.
