Formed by Red Bull Music Academy participant Henry Keen and his brother Olly, the Sound Species hail from London. Raised with a jamboree of musical instruments for toys, playing with sounds and rhythms was an early passion of the brothers. In later years, Henry became a vinyl enthusiast and DJ whilst Olly was playing bass in various bands. The intervention of a new Apple G3 computer set-up in the family home was the catalyst for them coming together musically and finally founding a band. While this seems ages ago now, this live DJ set performed by Henry at Bestival 2009 catches this species in fine form, sounding fresh as ever.
