Whether it is the complementary combination of the voices of Chuck D. and Flavor Flav, or the legendary noisy and soulful sound design of Public Enemy, making rock 'n' roll by the means of hip hop - Hank Shocklee's beats have always been balanced out ingeniously in order to be charged with fierce energy. As a member of the Bomb Squad, he's also credited with creating seminal recordings for a variety of other highly regarded artists such as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Slick Rick, Bell Biv Devoe, LL Cool J, & Run DMC. Recently, he and his brother Keith Shocklee started serving as the front men for a project that features a combination of futuristic live electronics, visuals and vocals as well as hints of their current inspiration by London's thriving Dubstep scene. Hank Shocklee describes this new venture by saying, 'I want to be a hybrid of man and machine as opposed to being a performer that uses machines.' Listen to what makes this particular bomb tick in these Headphone Highlights.
