In the late 80's Tony Thorpe and Jimmy Cauty of KLF fame started setting the house scene aflame with their blend of house with elements from acid to African music. By 1991 they had created house classic Funky Zulu and become the official remixers of The KLF including mixes of hits like: 3am Eternal and What Time Is Love. Cauty retired from Moody Boyz in 1992 coinciding with his retirement from The KLF but Tony Thorpe continued the message on the underground Dance scene and went on to release his first album, Product Of The Environment which was described as a stunning debut. The album was released on the seminal Guerilla label, which subsequently folded, making Product Of The Environment, one of the lost gems of that era. Tony Thorpe remained undeterred, going on to release more remix albums and set up a record label Language. He has remixed everyone from Amy Winehouse to Bloc Party via Erykah Badu and Jazmine Sullivan and is famed for his eclectic taste in music.
