Whether DJing around in Poland or playing live at events like the Warsaw Electronic Festival, An On Bast grows her delicate synthetic music in the fertile mulch of quantum physics, Autechre, Mozart, choirs, Bill Laswell, Mouse on Mars and Radiohead. The piano-playing mushroom expert (she grows the harmless kind) self-released her album 'Welcome Scissors', and followed it up with the equally delicate 'Happy-Go-Lucky.' She exercises her angelic side when singing in the Dominicantes choir. Listening to her music it's easy to imagine a version of Logan's Run set in a post-communist city of wind-up toys, charcoal drawings and watercolours.
