Ever since 1993, Mouse On Mars have been creating a parallel musical universe, where intelligence and playfulness, sophisticated noise and pop sensibilities, theoretical frameworks and a sense of fun go hand in hand to all tomorrows parties. Hailing from Koeln and Duesseldorf, they have had an international outlook from the start, releasing records on labels like Too Pure, Thrill Jockey, Domino, Ipecac and setting up their opwn label, Sonig, along the way to release some of their more obscure side-projects and a host of international artists. Their collaborations with (and production work for) acts like Stereolab or Mark E. Smith of The Fall are further prove of their far reaching impact, - as are their forays into the art world. It would take days to do their convoluted discography justice, but during this Fireside Chat they give a great introduction, touching upon their work with Moondog, their Von Sdenfeld project with Mark E. Smith and a host of other projects past, present and future.
