Germany's one and only answer to Gilles Peterson. Rainer Trueby has been a mad jazz fan and possessed record collector for ages. Born in Stuttgart, he went through the school of hard knocks, cutting his teeth DJing there 16 years ago to an elderly crowd (65+). This soon changed and Trueby played "all things nice" at the Sunday nights of the legendary On-U-Club: soul, funk, jazz, hip hop and the catalogue of the then almighty Talkin Loud label. After a move to Freiburg, he started recording music with A Forest Mighty Black and an infamous club residency by the name of 'Root Down' at the Waldsee that is still going on strong for more than ten years. To this day, Trueby manages to find hints of jazz and soul in different genres and shades of rhythm, when he is not busy recording songs of faith and devotion with his beloved Trueby Trio that followed his career with A Forest Mighty Black. Listen to his latest adventure into the land of brazilian bliss.
