Starting out with 'This Film's Crap, Let's Slash The Seats' back in 1995, David Holmes has had a career that's been firmly connected to movies ever since. Being busy creating soundtracks for movies like Ocean's 11 (and its sequels), Michael Winterbottom's Code 46 and lately projects by his own Film Production company, Canderblinks, all while finding time to bring his skill as a DJ to the table, it took him years to record his latest record, 'The Holy Picture'. But maybe it was just that it took a lot of time for all the pieces to fall into place, for a collaboration with Martin Rev of Suicide to happen; for taking time to listen back to everything from Daniel Johnson to La Dusseldorf while trying to find ways to reflect his youth in the city of Belfast, and find his singing voice along the way. Whatever it was, it is a rare thing for people to actually take the time it takes. Knowing when to do so might be one of his finest traits as a DJ - so no reason to slash any seats around here.
