Pinch was born in Scotland and lived there until he was six years old when his family moved to Newport in south Wales. At 18 he moved to Bristol and has been there ever since, enjoying the relaxed and bass heavy vibe of the city. After getting recognized around town for mashing minimal, garage, and grime into his DJ sets, Pinch started to incorporate some dubstep plates. But it was the experience of seeing Kode 9 at the monthly night FWD>> in London that really turned his head and from then on it was pure dubstep. In 2005 he founded Tectonic Records with the motto, If your chest aint rattlin, it aint happnin! It is a label that has gone from strength to strength, created its own sound and has received a lot of respect from the dubstep fraternity across the globe. This exclusive Train Wreck mix was recorded just after Pinch mixed the second installment of Tectonic Plates, which pulls together various Tectonic vinyl cuts past and future. Flipping the script completely, it sidesteps dubstep almost completely and focuses on some of the sounds that have influenced Pinch over the years whether as a DJ, an Artist or a label boss.
