It’s difficult to work out where Simon ‘Woolfy’ James and his long-time collaborator Dan Hastie draw the lines between their many musical projects and their equally myriad labels. First working together as Projections and releasing an album on Guidance, they have since released records on Rong, Permanent Vacation and even DFA as variously Projections, Woolfy and even Woolfy vs Projections. We caught up with both of these gentlemen after a particularly hard weekend of partying in London, which came halfway through their Woolfy Live tour of Europe. Whilst the interview was mildly tainted by a pair of record-breaking hangovers, their track selections give a good reflection of these two L.A. cats’ ethics. Essentially it’s all about the party...
