Adrian Sherwood has many strings to his bow but his perhaps best known as a record producer and label boss of On-U Sound. Having run his first Sound at the age of 13(!) he was fully immersed in the record industry by his late teens when he set up what was arguably the first independent reggae distribution company in the UK. It was long before he was founding labels including the legendary Pressure Sounds reissue imprint and later On-U Sound, which has released over 100 albums by artists such as Lee Perry and Bim Sherman – most of them produced by Sherwood himself. He is also part of the influential Tackhead and has remixed a whole heap of artists – from Primal Scream to Sinead O'Connor, Depeche Mode to Nine Inch Nails. Here Adrian talks us through his career using the On-U Sound catalogue as his guide, and tells us about his relationships with some of the most important recording artists in modern reggae. He also shares some brand new remixes of classic On-U Sound tracks by artists such as Kode 9 and Horsepower...
