Joyce Moreno - known to most people in Brazil simply as Joyce - has been recording and performing music for the best part of 5 decades. Getting her first break in the '60s, Joyce released her first and eponymous album for Philips before releasing several records on that other stalwart of Brazilian music, Odeon. Joyce has written for, performed with and recorded with almost every great name in Brazilian music including Elis Regina, Joao Donato and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Much of her more recent output has been released by Joe Davis’ Farout Recordings including the recent release of one of the Brazilian holy grails - 'Visions Of Dawn'. Recorded in Paris in 1976, it is a collaboration between Joyce, Nana Vasconcellos and Mauricio Maestro and is widely hailed as a Brazilian acid-folk classic. In this Fireside Chat, Joyce tells us a little bit about this classic recording and guides us through some of the key moments in her long career.
