If talent converted into record sales, David Moufang would be a very rich man. His releases with Jonas Grossmann (Deep Space Network) and solo efforts under the Move D disguise are amid the furthest outreaches of techno's trip to the stars. He grew up in Heidelberg with a parents' collection of Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk records, but the most overwhelming sway was a trip to the cinema to see Kubrick's space odyssey. Two piano-playing grandmothers, drum and guitar lessons later, Move D discovered techno. When Moufang stepped into a club the first time, discovering Detroit, 808 State and first stirrings of ambient, he was sold. Source Records was founded tersely afterwards. Ranging from subtle, Detroitish grooves to wired electronic jazz and deep house poetry, it culminated in a recently re-released debut long player, 'Kunststoff'. Now, Move D produces applauded 12-inches for Workshop, Modern Love or Philpot, complementing the skills of the versatile and fleet-footed DJ he is. This show was recorded exclusively for Red Bull Music Academy Radio at FromMeToYou in Stockholm, hosted by Barcelona participant Cornelia.
