Cameroonian saxophonist, vibes player and songwriter Manu Dibango is one of the key figures of late 20th century African music. Best known for his huge crossover hit Soul Makossa, Dibango has alongside legends such as Fela Kuti and Mulatu Astatke done his fair share of cross pollination between African and Western sounds. As well as his own solo work, he toured and recorded with The Fania All-Stars amongst others and is still playing now despite being well into his 70s.
