We Have Band

Naive, London

It’s been an excited time for the three members of We Have Band. Having played their first gig in 2008, the trio was soon hailed as one of the most exciting bands coming out of London. Having met whilst working desk jobs at EMI, husband and wife team Tom and Dede managed to rope Darren in on the strength of their name alone. Their rise started when a string of much loved and talked about small gigs in London was noticed by a lucky few including NME, Dazed & Confused and XFM who all signed up early for more. The next two years saw Darren, Thomas and Dede travel the world playing shows including SXSW and Glastonbury, and the rest of the time they spent in the studio with producer Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear, Depeche Mode, These New Puritans) to work on their self-titled debut album which was released to much acclaim in the spring of 2010 on French powerhouse Naive. Drawing from a well of influences that include ESG, Arthur Russell, Animal Collective or The Rapture, We Have Band have created their own sound - a 21st century mixture defying categorisation or pigeonholing.
