Marc Mac started out making speaker boxes for sound systems aged 15. A pirate radio station called Strong Island Radio and a record collection later, he met Dego (the other half of 4Hero) with whom he established Reinforced Records and the first 4Hero track called 'Rising Son' followed by the seminal 'Mr. Kirks Nightmare' (together with Gus). People began to call this music jungle and 4Hero were a vital and inventive part of this scene before drums and bass alone became too narrow for them. Thanks to Talkin Loud's then Gilles Peterson, they released their groundbreaking albums 'Two Pages' and 'Creating Patterns' - the rest is history as they say. While dwelling in the studio with Dego producing a new 4Hero longplayer, Marc Mac currently sits on the shelves with his Visioneers project: The past, present and future of hip hop beats.
