Carlos Nino

Ammoncontact, Build An Ark

Carlos Nino is very active in all things music: producer, arranger, writer and recording artist in one person. He plays and programs as much as he leads and organises bands. As a radio host/DJ in Los Angeles for over ten years at KPFK 90.7FM and a celebrated concert promoter, Carlos has worked with everyone from Gil Scott-Heron to Pharoah Sanders, Saul Williams to Freestyle Fellowship and is well known for his support of up-and-coming artists. But you might know him better under one of his monikers: Ammoncontact (Ninja Tune), The Life Force Trio (Plug Research), Dwight Trible/Our Cry For Peace (Kindred Spirits), Hu Vibrational (Soul Jazz) and his ensemble Build An Ark. Here he selects a path through spiritual jazz and sun-roasted sambas and tomorrow's beats.
