Ashley Beedle has been involved in more projects than a US building marshal. His style is as diverse as his hometown’s cultural crucible (London) and his productions have been championed by artists ranging from Danny Tenaglia to Fabio and Grooverider - from Gilles Peterson to John Digweed. Ashley is well known as part (or all) of the Black Science Orchestra, The Ballistic Brothers, The Black Jazz Chronicles and Xpress2 and his career in dance music has taken in some of the UK’s best loved ‘moments’ and yielded some of it’s most iconic records. On the day Barack Obama was elected as president, Ashley shared some of his favourite and best-loved tunes past and present with Red Bull Music Academy Radio. As well as dropping a couple of tunes from his own label and a track from the recently reissued BSO classic ‘Walter’s Room’ on Junior Boys Own, he made sure he threw in a topical and highly amusing Japanese cover-version of Black President to mark the day.
