In the words of Dazed & Confused magazine, “something is raising its neon head in Russia.” This producer, promoter and DJ runs two Moscow club nights, Opa!Opa! and Odyssey (previously Thriller), which have been described as a playground of debauchery, with guests like new world beat sensation Diplo, French electro house king Mr. Oizo or Gomma Records’ Headman. Dmitry Ustinov alias TARAS3000 calls his sound “a really sick disco brew of everything”, and to create it, he doesn’t touch a laptop. His live show consists of a band (vocals, guitar, keys, sax and clarinet) with an RS7000 sequencer, sampler, effects and synthesizer for those all-important chords, stabs and washes.
