Guilty Simpson has been a corner stone of Detroit Hip Hop for time, blowing speakers alongside those such as J Dilla, Slum Village, Phat Kat, Black Milk and even Eminem and D12. Guilty teamed up with Dilla back in 2001, while a member of the Almighty Dreadnaughtz, and laid down his first verses to tape on what would become the Jaylib LP. Having pitched camp with Stones Throw records, a couple of appearances on the Chrome Children volumes have laid the foundations for Guilty's debut solo LP 'Ode To the Ghetto'. Rugged, raw and real - it's an antidote to plastic MCs everywhere, without even having to make that statement explicit. Put the headphones on and get in solitary confinement.
