Major Lazer x Notting Hill Carnival session on RBMA Radio

Following on from 2009’s event, Red Bull Music Academy Radio celebrated the return of Major Lazer Soundystem to Notting Hill Carnival this last Monday, August 30. Diplo and Switch introduced handpicked talent from around the world, legendary dub wizard Lee 'Scratch' Perry amongst them.

Assisting the Major on decks was the original ‘Gentleman Rudebwoy’, David Rodigan, who took the dance by storm once more with one of his legendary edutainment speeches on King Tubby and some classic Rodigan tunes from Junior Gong to, well, Major Lazer's Pon Di Floor. Dubstep producer of the moment Joker played another high-energy set with tunes, including Katy B's Top 5 single, Katy On A Mission, dead prez' 'Hip Hop' and of course some of his own productions and remixes.

UK garage renaissance man Sticky, Buenos Aires-based Douster, and socalectroi king and Academy ’10 grad Poirier also performed alongside Drop The Lime who went from classic rockabilly tunes to some of his own club hits such as Sex Sax.
