Shift

Shift is a festival for electronic arts. Held in Basel, the Swiss city of music and museums, its organizers and hosts are active in the fields of film, video, media art and electronic music. One of their outstanding features is the so-called headphone concert, where music is transferred directly to each visitor's pair of headphones instead of speakers. Shift’s intellectual, yet broad approach leaves enough room on the same bill for this galaxy’s leading ueber-turntablist Q-Bert and for Viennese composer and Red Bull Music Academy lecturer Fennesz.
