Rather like the BBC's younger, thinner, better-looking brother, Sveriges Radio AB has been around since 1925, but after some reshuffling and name-cropping, has been running Sweden's national and local radio companies since the '90s. Funded through a similar license fee to its British counterpart, it wields the same autonomy, leaving it well-placed to pass impartial comment on a range of subjects of national and global interest. P3 is Severiges Radio's popular music channel, divided into blocks like P3 hiphop, P3 Rytm, and P3 Soul. Academy alumnus Kornel Kovacs heads up the weekly P3 Dans show every Saturday night, digging out the cream of today's house and techno music, and has been a regular on Stockholm's club scene since he began his residency at Club Paradise, amongst other spots. Kornel made an in-depth feature of the Academy's London edition, and slots perfectly into the machine music continuum.
