It might seem half a world away, but Russia's weighty house and techno scene is closer than you think. With regular pitstops from the great and the good of the international DJ circuit, Russian station Radio OK and its flagship techno show 'It's Technics' presented by Vadim Kasse, collects together the finest exponents of motorik soul from around the world. Situated in the city of Ryazan in Moscow's south-eastern neighbouring province, Radio OK started as all good radio stations do, serving the community with culture, community news, and entertainment. Now a fully-fledged FM broadcasting station, the station covers a whole selection of genres from Russian bands and dance acts, to international pop icons and underground electronic artists. While Ryazan sits on the floodplain of one of Russia's most vital tributaries, the River Oka, so too does it's radio namesake tap into the mainstream of Russian music culture, and set listeners adrift on the airwaves.
