Bar London was once known as Hotel London at the turn of last century, when it acted as a hub from all kinds of bohemian characters. Through the years, composer Sergei Rachmaninoff and symbolist poet Maximilian Voloshin passed through its rooms, as well as Russian futurist and forefather of the Japanese avantgarde David Burliuk. But now the modern face of Bar London is more akin to the Unity Theatre in Britain's capital, and takes its cultural responsibility to the people of Sochi no less seriously. As well as their explorations into live jazz and rock music, there are also a fair few electronic pioneers who pass through, and the setting by the beach has ensured some very memorable nights. RBMA Radio has also dipped its toes into the Black Sea to taste their finest parties, among them might with Academy fam Marco Passarani and Nina Kraviz. Sochi, so good.
