The new kid on the eastern block, Trouw comes with the values of a previous dam standard-bearer - Club 11 - and flips it in the best possible way. Converting the printing press floors of one of Holland's oldest newspapers, Trouw revels in the raw, industrial space, and brings just the essential ingredients of a top venue - a killer sound system, open-eared party people, programming that includes iconic originals as well as radical upstarts, and a dimly-lit floor made just for dancing. On the other side of the staircase is the restaurant, for the gastronauts amoung us, while the De Verdieping basement doubles as an interactive gallery, cinema, intimate lecture area, and all-round cultural space where initiatives and collaborations can be forged between students and pioneers of many disciplines. Staying true to the grass roots of electronic music and the revelationary club experience, this is one club that knows how to do it right - and Red Bull Music Academy Radio will be there pressing record for the most essential sessions.
