2XM is the specialist alternative station of RTÉ Radio, the Emerald Isle's premier cross-media broadcaster. 2XM covers all kinds of alternative music, with punk, indie, and new wave shows, to soul, country, hip hop and experimental electronics, as well as live music. RTÉ is a non-profit organization owned by the irish people with a total of eleven national and digital radio stations, as well as the television, news, publishing, transmission network, and even several classical performing groups. 2XM is the alternative digital jewel in RTE's crown, with a selection of shows produced and presented by some of Ireland's most-devoted music heads - slotting in perfectly with RTE's range of cultural documentaries and news programs.
