Melt!

After dancing under the open sky the whole night until dawn, and seeing the sun rise behind the brontosaurus-esque steel machinery that gives the lake a strange shade of morning light, you certainly know what this 'special Melt! feeling' is all about. The festival melts the modern indie heart with the rhythm of a different drum, as nothing quite beats that feeling at sunrise when the crowd has left all its cares behind and all arms are lifted into the air - this is the energy of one of the most extraordinary and avantgarde open air festivals in Germany. Melt! has already become a classic date on the festival calendar and is preparing for its 12th edition. All known styles of music are pushed and presented to a demanding and varied audience. At this fascinating encounter of panorama and sound, indie chic, pop freaks and electro heads come together to a mixture of dance beats and rock riffs, where the song and backbeat are equal. Since 2007 the Red Bull Music Academy curates a stage at Melt!, covering a wide range of cutting-edge sounds from dubstep and baile funk, to disco and electro, and everything in between. Previous line-ups have included the likes of Skream, Goldie, Buraka Som Sistema, Crookers and Maurice Fulton to name a few. I'll have a tune melt, please.
