Radio B92

Radio B92

Radio B92 was founded back in 1989, starting life as a youth radio program, covering downtown Belgrade. However, B92 really found its identity during the oppressive regime of Slobodan Milosevic, as the station took the position of one of the leading representatives of independent journalism, freedom of speech, and human rights. During Milosevic's regime, B92's continued stand against violence and intolerance coupled with antiwar campaigns and the founding of an Association of Independent Electronic Media with other Serbian members, defined the station as a champion of liberty. Since those days, B92 has grown to become a media company consisting of a radio and television station, a web site and internet service provider, video and film production, a cultural center, a publishing house, a music label and a concert agency. The radio station is now one of the most popular in Serbia, running from the northern province of Subotica, to the southern Nišava Valley. Its music progamming reflects its humanitarian values, embracing new music with open ears and respectfully honoring the original roots. Respect the airwaves.
