Ladies and gentlemen, the sound from New Zealand. A weekly show live and direct from the infamous jam sessions at the Red Bull Studio in Auckland. With a rich musical tradition that ranges from the classic Flying Nun label to projects like The Black Seeds or Fat Freddy’s Drop (not to mention the Rocky Horror Picture Show), you’d think New Zealand must have ten times the population that it has. And however small and isolated it may look on the map, the Sounds Pacific shows will show you that the Kiwi heart grooves at the very core of the musical community. Ranging from DJ sets that showcase the NZ dubstep scene through extended, dubby jams, to classic New Zealand pop, you’ll never know which styles will be flying your way from the South Pacific. But you can be sure they’ll come perfomed with love from the onward paradise, a mixed bag of aural delights each and every time.
