Villette Sonique

Villette Sonique know about the new sound sensations quest better than anyone, and it's the quest into the unknown with irreverence that informs this gathering of fearless sonar-nauts at what is dubbed a 'Cabaret Sauvage en Plein Air'. Explorations into noise, electronics, dance, foreign culture, and film, across the gardens of the Parc de la Villette is what you can expect, but while there's plenty of teeth-gritting, bone-crushing sonics, there's also lots of opportunities to open the mind and take on board the haute culture that is musique sans frontieres. For five sun-drenched days in late May, the Parc also holds interactive workshops for the Sonique youth - part-lessons, part-theatre, dance performances in the 'Jardin des Miroirs', as well as a showcase for local record labels, and a series of Red Bull Music Academy Workshop Sessions, where musical mavericks give hands on demonstrations and advice on how to beat your own path through the music wilderness. This is what parks were made for!
