St Jerome's Laneway Festival

Even as urban events go, St Jerome's Laneway Festival is an unusual proposition, transforming the intricate cross-section of narrow lanes into a musical treasure hunt, with a jam-packed stage always just 'round the corner. Bringing out everyone's inner Christopher Columbus, the sense of discovery doesn't end with navigating through the underused spaces and lanes - there's plenty of new bands and artists to check out across the five cities that the Laneway offers. The Red Bull Music Academy Radio stage has been at hand to unearth the hidden gems of the electronic music world and provide some zig to the indie rock zag of the other stages. Previous guests have included Harmonic 313, Rusko, Dorian Concept, Four Tet, Daedalus, El Guincho, and the Canyons to name a few. Now in its sixth year, the Laneway Festival has grown from a single lane in Melbourne back in 2004, to the sprawling, packed selection of labyrinthine alleys it is now - and finally all the city dwellers who crave some carnival vibes, all pressed up close together in celebration, have an answer to their prayers.
