Spring

Spring

You could almost set the air on fire, it's so fresh and pure in Graz. But while the city is the perfect location for quiet recuperation and refreshing mountain air most of the time, for five days in May we get to see its late-night side, as music lovers descend on 14 venues across Graz for future-looking electronic music in all its varieties. Spring plays this variety of venues to its strength, taking the opportunity to program artists from across the board, and tying together the patch work quilt of the city with 909 kicks and synth lines. Education is also close to the heart of Spring, and they present plenty of lectures and workshops in an effort to demystify the myths and encourage youngsters to discover their inner sound modules, such as last year's synth museum. The Red Bull Music Academy contributes to this program, holding workshops and taster sessions in the past from such radicals as Carl Craig, Marky, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, and Arabian Prince, while also bringing the hands-on feel with the Red Bull Music Academy Soundlabs, as producers show their way around their favourite equipment of choice. Guaranteed to put a spring in your step.
