This festival, balancing right on the threshold of summer, takes place in balmy mid-May, deep in the middle of the French heartland. For five days and nights, Lyon becomes a mecca of electronic music and culture, attracting over 67.000 forward-looking music lovers. In a similar sprawl to festivals like SXSW and Pygmalion, Les Nuits Sonores takes place in forty sites throughout the city, in every kind of building conceivable, from concert halls and cinemas, to bars, museums, and city squares. Not just a platform for culture, the festival promotes the city and its own musical scenes, and invites visitors and locals alike to explore and discover the many hidden Lyonnaise treasures. Machine music of all shapes and sizes and all shades of futuristic soul echo through the Lyon streets, and we've made sure we're right in the thick of it to bring you the choicest bits.
