Neopop

For three days in Summer, the Neopop Electronic Music Festival takes the sounds of creaking fishing boats and lapping tides, and flips it with a wholly different oscillation - the great and good of live techno and electronic dance music descend on the northern city of Viana do Castelo in Portugal. Previously known as AntiPop Festival, Neopop saw the likes of James Holden, Joris Voorn, and the Wighnomy Brothers ruling the dance from deck, while live electronic shows were performed by Audion, Reboot, Alex Under, and Paul Kalkbrenner among others. Aside from the idyllic setting on the mouth of the river Lima, and seafood so fresh it's from tomorrow's catch, Neopop brings together the cream of today's electronic producers from the US and Europe, as an up-to-the-minute snapshot of a global techno sound. Red Bull Music Academy Radio was there to record the highlights, and bring you the fish platters that matter.
