La Bâtie

La Bâtie is a veritable institution, bringing theatre, culture, music and dance to the lucky people of Geneva since 1977. Taking place in twenty-two venues over two weeks, La Bâtie has established itself as an international epicentre for all things rhythmic - from explorations into electronics with Hudson Mohawke and Dimlite, to reinterpretations of Melody Nelson or opera from Marie Brassard. La Bâtie is also a platform for local acts, introducing the world to performance artiste Marielle Pinsard among others. The festival also high-lights many of Geneva's best venues, from the historic Comedie de Geneve to the sturdy outpost of L'Usine and the PTR association. La Bâtie knows the importance of bringing together the various local and international communities, and after more than thirty years, have honed the festival into a finely tuned cultural exchange.
