FM4 Geburtstagsfest

FM4 Geburtstagsfest

Since its inception in 1994, FM4 has been successful in creating an environment that allows alternative ideas and music styles to flourish on the airwaves. FM4 first started out as an evening program on Blue Danube Radio back in 1995, before developing into the new FM4 station on the dawn of the new millennium, as a 24 hour bilingual broadcast. FM4 doesn't believe in dumbing-down their listeners, broadcasting in German, English and French, and doing away with those awkward voiceovers. Building on this international mindset, recently they've been commemorating their original transmission as a fully-fledged station with their Geburtstagsfest. Taking over the Wien Arena, FM4 collects together the stand-out acts from their schedule, bringing the airwaves to the live stage, and warming the cockles of Vienna's musical landscape. Around 3,000 revellers put on their woolly hats to see those left-field acts play live, cementing FM4's reputation as Austria's most important alternative radio station. Kick out the FMs!
