Don't ask us what's staring back out of the Abyss - better ask Void! Sydney's premier club for straight-up bass music is celebrating its second brithday, but in just two short years has seen heavy sessions from Mancunian stepper Zed Bias, master of the bass arts Harmonic 313, and low-end maestros Loefah, N-Type, Cotti, Rusko and many others. Fitting that down a dark surreptitious staircase on Oxford Street you can find every strain of bass culture, from dubstep, and dancehall, to reggae and dubby techno. With original space-age toaster Steve Spacek providing the compere, and resident man of many noms de wax Mark Pritchard, Void is always weighty in the dance, with plenty of fuel for the feet, hips, and astral projections. The Red Bull Music Academy Radio series of live club recordings, 'On The Floor!' has been in optimum position for the chest-plate rattle, bringing you set after set of half-time winders from international and local producers alike. Don't expect to come home after a trip into the void...
