LowerState started out as a simple idea between two friends - to bring quality electronic music to western Ireland, trying not to lose too much money in the process. Two years, more than 20 international guests, and countless raise-the-roof moments later, the night has grown into one of Galway's most established nights and a full-blown family affair. Guests such as Alex Smoke, dOP, and residents Rory D and J-Me, thread a balanced musical line between well-known classics and back-of-the-crate platters, yet the sounds are always moving forward joining the dots between the deepest house and techno. Originally based in the old-school Spanish wine cellar called De Burgo's, the night has now found a new home at the appropriately named Deeper - another cellar perfect for their trademark up-close-and-personal parties. For each night, the club is kitted out with a highly powered Funktion One system and customised lighting, making it easy for you to tune into that lower state of consciousness.
